The Flaming Lips Share Psychedelic Collaboration With Miley Cyrus [Watch]

first_imgThe Flaming Lips is releasing a new album, Oczy Mlody, due out next week on January 13th. The psychedelic rock band hasn’t released a full length album since their 2014 Beatles tribute, With A Little Help From My Fwends, and hasn’t released original music since The Terror in 2013. So the coming of Wayne Coyne and company’s new project is that much more exciting. They’ve released a few songs so far, the most recent of which hinted at collaborations with Miley Cyrus. The Flaming Lips appeared on her 2015 surprise album as her Dead Petz, and the music for the Lips’ new “Sunrise (Eyes of the Young)” is extremely similar to Cyrus’s “The Floyd Song (Sunrise)” from their collaborative album. Today’s lyrical video confirms her contributions to the album with the newest release of “We a Famly”. Formula One: Steering wheel of fortune for Vettel

first_imgShare on: WhatsApp Budapest, Hungary | AFP |  Sebastian Vettel admitted he was glad that it is so difficult to overtake around the tight Hungaroring circuit after nursing his Ferrari car, with steering problems, to victory in Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix. The four-time world champion, whose victory lifted him 14 points clear of nearest rival Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes in this year’s title race, said he felt something wrong with his car on the grid, adding that it became worse during the race.“It was a tough one for me” he told reporters after the 46th win of his career. “I was hoping for a bit more of a quiet afternoon.“I felt already there was something not right when we dropped the car on the grid. The steering wheel was not on straight. It didn’t feel right and then it got worse.“I did try to adapt. I knew you could not change it and then I tried to save the rears. We spoke a little bit on the radio about it, talking through the problem.“They told me to avoid the kerbs, but on a track where you use the kerbs, it compromises your performance. In the second stint I wanted to make sure I could use the tyres so I was holding back.“In the end I was pretty well flat out and they were behind me queuing. It is good you cannot overtake around his track — I had no room for error!”He added that Ferrari team-mate Kimi Raikkonen who finished second behind him was “a lot faster” that he was during the closing stages of the race.“Kimi had good pace and could go a lot faster than me for the majority of the race,” he said. Raikkonen said: “I had the whole race following Sebastian and hoping he goes as fast as he can and not saving tyres — as the Mercedes was catching me.“But I was not too worried because the car was handling well,” he said. “I could follow [Vettel] very well, but it wasn’t ideal because I felt I had the speed and I was stuck in the middle.”last_img read more

Zidane already clear on Real Madrid transfer targets

first_imgShare on: WhatsApp FILE PHOTO: Zinedine Zidane Madrid, Spain | AFP | Zinedine Zidane said on Saturday he knows exactly what kind of players he wants to sign this summer as he looks to revamp Real Madrid’s squad for next season.Madrid are expected to be busy after a miserable campaign that has left them lying 13 points behind Barcelona in La Liga, after already crashing out of the Champions League in the last 16.Several players could depart, with Gareth Bale’s future particularly uncertain, while among those likely to arrive at the Santiago Bernabeu is Chelsea forward Eden Hazard.“I know exactly what I want,” Zidane said at a press conference.“Nothing is ever concrete with these things, it’s just what you aim to do, your desire to change certain things, that’s all.“We have talked about player profiles and that is clear in my head. We’ll see what we can do. What is certain is that there will be changes. You can never stand still.”Zidane was again asked about the likelihood of Welshman Bale staying and offered no guarantees. “We have not talked about that and we’re not going to talk about that,” Zidane said.center_img “We are thinking about the game tomorrow and nothing else.”Zidane will have Vinicius Junior at his disposal, whose breakthrough has been one of the only positives for Madrid this season, but who is yet to play under the Frenchman as he has been out since March with a knee injury.Vinicius trained on Saturday with the first team and could be in contention to feature on Sunday, when Madrid host in-form Athletic Bilbao.“I’m glad to see him with us but he has to go slowly,” Zidane said. “He has been out for two months so we have to be very careful with him. He has shown his quality and he is an exciting player for the future.”Keylor Navas is likely to continue in goal against Bilbao, with Thibaut Courtois recovering from a thigh injury. Captain Sergio Ramos is struggling with a calf strain.last_img read more
