WEST COVINA – Police were looking Monday for the suspects in a birthday party shooting that left two men dead and two other people injured.Autopsies for Robert Ruiz, 23, of La Puente and Adam Rodriguez, 20, of West Covina were conducted Monday.Medical examiners determined Ruiz died of multiple gunshot wounds, while Rodriguez died from a gunshot to the stomach, according to Lt. Fred Corral of the Coroner’s Office.The shooting broke out early Sunday in the back yard of a house in the 2200 block of James Avenue. What started the shooting is still unknown since witnesses fled, police said.Ruiz died in the back yard while Rodriguez showed up at Citrus Valley Medical Center, Queen of the Valley campus, where he was later pronounced dead, Corral said.A 23-year-old Valinda man and a 22-year-old La Puente woman also were injured in the shooting. Their identities and conditions were unknown.On Monday, a woman who pulled into the driveway of the house where the party was held said she didn’t know anything. And another woman who answered the phone at the house declined comment.The families of the victims could not be reached.Several neighbors in the cul-de-sac didn’t want to talk. One woman who identified herself only as “Estela” said she didn’t hear the shooting. She was going to church, opened her door and saw the police.
